In 2021, The Seattle Seahawks announced a commitment of $500,000 to the development of Seattle's Youth Achievement Center (YAC), which will provide vital housing and resources for youth in South Seattle. The team has pledged to donate $100,000 per year for the next five years to the center, which upon completion will provide resources such as health care, childcare, counseling, and technology and financial education, in addition to housing. Commercial spaces on site will provide job training and skill building opportunities. This pledge followed the Seahawks’ already unwavering commitment to telling the story of restorative justice here in Seattle.
We have been proud to partner with the Seahawks on multiple documentary projects raising awareness around gun violence and restorative justice efforts throughout King County. Projects include 16 Lives, Out of the Fire, In Community By Community, and the Youth Achievement Center Capital Campaign. Click on any of the links on the right to watch these films.
